Australian Graduate Survey Results
Studying at University is a big financial investment and naturally, most of us want to know there will be a rewarding career waiting at the end.
Each year, the Australian Graduate Survey publishes independent statistics on graduate employment and reassuringly, the outlook for University of Newcastle graduates remains high following the latest results (December 2015).
Our graduate employment is as high as 100% in some fields, with almost 70% of all graduates in full-time employment within four months of completing their degree.
Importantly, our graduates continue to experience strong long-term employment, with almost 90% in full-time employment three years after graduation.
Why our graduates are highly employable
95% of our degrees offer work-integrated-learning opportunities, ensuring our graduates are highly competitive, armed with real-world experience to demonstrate to potential employers.
Over 90% of our research is rated 'at or above world-standard'. As many of our outstanding researchers are also teachers, our students can learn from global experts in their field and share in the success of ground-breaking discoveries creating impact across the world.
Our strong connections with industry ensure our graduates are well positioned for industry graduate programs and entry level roles. Our connections range from global mining giants such as BHP Billiton, to key state-owned service providers like Hunter Water and NSW Health, to a range of other State and Federal Government departments. As an example, approximately 85 per cent of Hunter Imaging Group's employees are UON graduates.
