Welcome CIFAL Newcastle and celebrate United Nations Day
The University of Newcastle is proud to be a partner with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) – an organisation which runs a growing global network of training centres, known as CIFAL, around the world.
CIFAL Newcastle, the only CIFAL centre in Australia and Asia Pacific is based at the University of Newcastle.
The CIFAL Global Network’s mission is to advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and address global challenges, such as the eradication of poverty and hunger, gender equality, environmental sustainability and risk reduction of natural disasters.
Our University is committed to the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
To mark United Nations Day and to celebrate the start of a new chapter with the University of Newcastle, CIFAL Newcastle is hosting a series of events and presentations at Ourimbah and Callaghan campus for all students and staff.
Tuesday 22 October – Ourimbah Campus
11am – 2pm
Events include an introduction to CIFAL and Sustainable Development Goals, biodiversity bush walk, free BBQ and more.
