A Word from the Wise

Alumni Advantage Program Breakfast

The Faculty of Business and Law welcomed three illustrious business graduates when they recently returned to uni to share their professional advice and experiences with current students.

Melinda Smith, Senior Consultant at Purser Communication, Murray Evans, Partner at PwC Australia, and Emily Bowen, Organisational Development and Recruitment Coordinator at Forsythes Recruitment, discussed their career journeys and shared their career-related insights when they spoke as guests at the Alumni Advantage Program breakfast. All three emphasised that employers considered more than good grades when filling graduate positions, and highlighted the value of a positive attitude, communications skills, goal setting, and networking skills and relationships, to both securing an initial position and career progression.

The Faculty of Business and Law recognises our alumni as valued members of our community, integral to the University's ongoing accomplishments, and a warm thank you is extended to Melinda, Murray and Emily for graciously and generously sharing their time and insights.
