A Blueprint for a Global Future officially launched

Tuesday, 28 August 2018

In recent years, the University of Newcastle has strengthened its modern identity as a truly global university. We've climbed major world rankings, and not only welcomed more international staff and students than ever before, but welcomed back more local staff and students from life-changing experiences abroad. It is a success to be proud of, but also a foundation for even greater things to come.

With this continued evolution of the University firmly in focus, the Office of the DVC, International & Advancement, has now launched “A Blueprint For a Global Future (2019-2025)” .

The document builds on the inaugural Global Partnerships Plan (2014-2018) and the NeW Futures Strategic Plan, to lay out a holistic vision for the role of internationalisation in the shared future of both the University and the regions it serves. It encompasses a variety of areas across the University, including global mobility of outbound staff and students, inbound international students and staff, global-facing professional development programs, intercultural workforce experiences, and global alumni networks. Most importantly, it recognises and celebrates the civic role of the University in how these interconnected strands drive the development of the University’s regions in a globalised future.

Print versions will also be available shortly through the Office of the DVC, International & Advancement, Confucius Institute, Office of Alumni and Philanthropy and UON Global.
