A View from the Bridge - An Introduction to Maritime Law
On 17th October, the Newcastle Law School hosted guest presenters Alexis Cahalan and Janine Liang from Thomas Miller Law and Barrister and Law School alumnus Rhea Thrift (pictured) to provide local practitioners and students with a practical introduction to maritime law in Australia and how it regulates marine transport and trade.

Education Showcase shines a light on teaching and learning
The first Educator Network Showcase was held on Thursday 22 November, attracting more than 120 delegates from across the institution. Hosted in the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment, in a recently refurbished TEAL, the event was the final Educator Network event for 2018.

Yearning to Yarn Exhibition
Yearning to Yarn is an initiative using Aboriginal ways of knowing and learning to support clinical placement experiences of Aboriginal health professional students. Created by Simon Munro, the Yearning to Yarn exhibition is on display at the Senta Taft-Hendry Museum, located under the University Gallery, now and into 2019.

Prestigious recognition for local historian
