NURO: New Research Publications System Launched
Newcastle University Research Outputs (NURO) is the University of Newcastle's new research publications management system.
Launched in October 2013, NURO offers a number of advantages:
NURO automatically searches for an individual's research outputs in Web of Science, Scopus and PubMed every two weeks. Researchers can customise their searches to add their back catalogue of research outputs and enter non-UoN affiliated publications.
Users can manually add records or upload entire CVs from Endnote or BibTeX for publications not automatically found in databases. Once claimed, or manually entered, a publication appears on a researcher's profile overnight.
NURO also captures bibliometric and citation metadata such as journal impact factors, citation counts, co-author addresses and h-index from WoS and Scopus.
NURO contains a HERDC module where researchers can nominate their publications for the annual publications collection and provide information to the library to support their nominations.
