Paying your deposit

PAYING YOUR DEPOSIT

You should only pay your deposit if you have received and accepted an UNCONDITIONAL offer.

When you accept your Offer of Admission you must also arrange for payment of the total deposit (as shown in Section 1 of your Agreement). Your place in the program of study is not confirmed until payment has been processed.

Please be aware that your payment options may be affected by Australia's sanctions laws. These laws can limit the University's ability to process payments and issue refunds to students from certain countries. Please use the link below to check the list of sanctioned countries.

If you are from a sanctioned country (or from Cuba) you will need to use the credit/debit card option in (1) below and will not be able to pay a deposit using the WUBS telegraphic transfer option. 

PAYMENT OPTIONS

1. Telegraphic transfer or credit/debit card via the secure Western Union Business Solutions (WUBS) secure online portal

This is the preferred payment option for new students – continuing students can use their account through the Student Hub. Please use the link below to log in and pay either by telegraphic transfer or credit/debit card through the WUBS secure online portal.

 2.    Bank draft or bank cheque (ONLY)

If paying by this option the bank draft or bank cheque must be made payable to the University of Newcastle and in Australian dollars for the total deposit (as shown in Section 1 of your Agreement). Please ensure that you specify details of your payment (such as tuition fee deposit, health cover etc) and also make sure you include your Student ID as a reference. Send this payment to the University at one of the addresses below:

You will need to download and print the Payment Form.

The completed Payment Form should be forwarded to the University of Newcastle at the address below.

 4.    Sponsorship or scholarship

If you are in receipt of a scholarship, please provide a certified copy of the financial guarantee or sponsor letter describing the details of the funding or sponsorship you will receive to support your study. The financial guarantee or sponsor letter must include the total amount of funds you will receive and the duration of the scholarship.  The letter must also clearly outline the amounts granted for tuition fees, living expenses, overseas student health cover and any other expenses that you may incur.  Please forward paperwork to one of the addresses below.
