Accepting your offer

Congratulations on your offer to study at the University of Newcastle. We look forward to welcoming you to Newcastle. You can find additional pre-departure information at Before you Leave.

To accept your offer you will need to:

  1. Meet any conditions outlined in your offer letter
  2. Complete and sign the offer acceptance
  3. Return your acceptance to ia@newcastle.edu.au
  4. Make your deposit payment using one of the options outlined below.

We recommend that you keep a copy of your acceptance and your deposit payment for your own records.

Payment options

UON accepts multiple payment methods for International Student fees. The below outlines the available options for international students to make their deposit. Please note that you should only pay your deposit once you have an unconditional offer and directly to the University.


UON Online Payment Portal

We recommend that all students make their payment through the University online payment portal. Through this portal you will be able to make payments by Flywire, Paypal, Western Union Business Solutions (WUBS), and more.

You can access the online payment portal at: https://payments.newcastle.edu.au/OneStopWeb/Web/menu.

To make your deposit payment select Student Payments and then International Student Deposit Payment. You will need to enter your details, including your student ID, and select your preferred payment method.

This payment option is for all International and Study Abroad/Exchange Students.


Bank draft or bank cheque

Our preferred payment method is via our online portal however, if you are unable to pay online we will accept a bank draft or bank cheque.

The bank draft or bank cheque must be made payable to the University of Newcastle and in Australian dollars for the total deposit amount as noted on your admissions offer (make sure you include your Student ID as a reference). Please send this to the following address:

Please note bank cheques may take up to 8 weeks to process. Personal cheques will not be accepted.


Sponsorship or scholarship

If you are in receipt of a scholarship, please provide a copy of the financial guarantee or sponsor letter with your offer acceptance. Your financial guarantee or sponsor letter should outline the:

  • program being sponsored
  • duration of the scholarship
  • contact information of the sponsor
  • total amount of funds you will receive including:
    • tuition fees
    • living expenses
    • Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)
    • any other expenses
  • if the payment will be made directly to the University

Sanctions

Please be aware that your payment options may be affected by Australia's sanctions laws. These laws can limit the University's ability to process payments and issue refunds to students from certain countries. Please use the link below to check the list of sanctioned countries.
