Video Comp Honour Roll
The WIL Student Video Competition encourages students to capture their WIL experiences in a video, this way promoting the valuable WIL opportunities offered to participants.
In 2014, there were seven entries from students in disciplines as varied as medicine, civil engineering, social work and occupational therapy.
Bachelor of Oral Health student, Alicia Denton, was named winner of the 2014 Student Video Competition. Her entry shared her memorable journey in a health outreach program for orphaned children and disadvantaged communities in West Timor and outlined the importance of this WIL experience to her study.
Runner Up was Bachelor of Social Work student Sarah Bryan. She skillfully created a stop frame animation-style video to explain what she had learned from her placement with the University's Family Action Centre, and also from a community engagement project at a Lake Macquarie High School.
The videos can be viewed via our highlights selected below, or on the University of Newcastle's YouTube Channel, and will also be used in campaigns to encourage more students and external partners to take part in WIL activities.
The Work Integrated Learning Student Video Competition is for domestic or international undergraduate students, who have finished or currently completing a workplace-based placement.
