Establishing strong networks
Studying at UON presented Nicole Velaires with ample opportunity to find her new. Nicole recently completed a combined Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Commerce degree majoring in Economics, Finance and International Business.
Nicole was the recipient of the Faculty Scholarship for Commencing Students, as well as the Lindgren Family Memorial Prize. During her studies Nicole participated in the EMPOWER program and gained invaluable experience working alongside a female mentor within the finance industry.
As a member the UON Business and Commerce Society board, Nicole organised both professional and social events for students and industry professionals, providing her with a number of networking opportunities to benefit her future career.
As a result of her strong academic performance and extensive extra-curricular activities, Nicole was offered an internship with Aberdeen Asset Management in their Sydney office.
