International student, Astrid, studied a Bachelor of Arts in her home country, France. But it was her experiences travelling the world which ignited a desire for a new career direction.

Travelling gave Astrid the opportunity to appreciate and observe different cultures. She began to wonder why people consume different products and services, and what influences their choice.

She decided to channel her curiosity into a career prospect and pursue post-graduate marketing study in the hopes of one day landing her dream job.

By enrolling in a Master of Marketing, Astrid has gained a great deal of knowledge and skills.

“The most valuable thing I have gained from my Master degree, is growing as a person and gaining confidence.

“Through different networking events, I had the opportunity to meet with different industries. Thanks to one of my courses, I have discovered a new range of career possibilities which I would of never considered beforehand.”

“The program was very flexible and offered me the possibility to model it to match with my situation. The University’s staff and academia are very helpful and help every student to make their journey smooth and enjoyable.

“My teachers are all very different in their teaching styles and their field of knowledge. I learnt a lot from every one of them. Their diversity has positively shaped my journey,” Astrid said.

Reminiscing on her time at university, Astrid recalls one moment that really stood out.

“I guess the most memorable was my first class when I sat down and realised where I was and all the effort I went through to be there.

“I am away from my family, I worked hard to have the required level of English, I savvily managed my life in a new country, and there I was, making my dream come true.

“On that day, I felt proud and every day since, I am proud to be at the University and to work hard to achieve my goal,” Astrid said.
