Student Living offers a free shopping shuttle to Stockland Jesmond exclusive to residents. At Stockland Jesmond you can find Woolworths, Big W, Priceline Pharmacy and plenty of food outlets.

The shopping shuttle loops from out the front of West Tower and Edwards Hall on the following days:

  • Tuesday evenings -  4pm to 6pm
  • Thursday nights - 6pm to 9pm
  • Saturday afternoons - 1pm to 4pm

Getting from Callaghan to NeW Space couldn't be easier for our residents. There is a free shuttle bus that leaves from outside of Barahineban (across from Car Park 14) and loops between Callaghan and the City.

The shuttle bus commences from 7:15am on weekdays from Callaghan to NeW Space and concludes weeknights with a 10.15pm service from NeW Space to Callaghan. Within core semester teaching periods, including exam periods, the shuttle runs at 30-minute intervals.

At Callaghan, residents have access to multiple public transport options including bus and train.

Warabrook, located behind carpark 16, is a 10-minute walk from our residences and the Security shuttle also drops off/picks up here. Trains from Warabrook to Hamilton Station leave every half an hour.

Buses heading from the university to Mayfield, the City Centre, and Charlestown leave from the bus stop outside International House on University Drive. Buses heading in the direction of Jesmond and Wallsend leave from the opposite side of the road on University Drive. There are also bus stops located outside of the Mathematics and Design buildings on campus.

We have close to 1000 resident-only car park spaces within the accommodation precinct. Carparks 11,14 and 15 are for the exclusive use of residents when a valid Resident Parking Permit is purchased. The 2020 cost of a Resident Parking Permit is $163.80 per year. Residential parking permits are available via the Student Living Portal.

The carparks outside of the accommodation precinct are classified as general parking. Parking in these spaces requires a valid Student Parking Permit to be displayed or you must purchase a daily parking ticket from the machines. You cannot park in general car parks displaying a Resident Parking Permit.

Please note: Parking is only permitted in designated marked bays and not on landscaped areas or roadways. Parking on campus is subject to the UON Traffic and Parking Rules and failure to comply with these may result in a penalty notice being issued.

Ourimbah Campus (Central Coast)

There is a free Security shuttle bus service that operates at our Callaghan and Ourimbah campuses to make sure students get to and from class safely.

Residents that live at Ourimbah have access to an exclusive carpark that is adjacent to Blue Gum House and unlike our Callaghan campus, parking at Ourimbah is free.

Upon arrival, Blue Gum residents will be provided with a free residential parking sticker which grants them access to the car park adjacent. This means you do not need to purchase one online.
