The Faculty of Science has a global footprint, in our students, staff and research.

Maintaining authentic relationships with highly valued international partners is one the cornerstones of our success in research, industry and teaching endeavours.

International partnerships and agreements with overseas institutions and industry groups are mutually beneficial to research, industry and teaching. Our dedicated International team manage the global engagement portfolio for the Faculty, with a focus on identifying potential partners, maintaining relationships, and finding opportunities for internationalisation of our curriculum, staff and students.

By working collaboratively with the UON Global office and colleagues from other faculties and divisions – both in the University and further afield – the Faculty is a well-respected team player in the international sphere. >

Key areas of the Faculty global engagement portfolio:

  • Partnerships: Both industry and institutional partnerships through the establishment of memorandums of understanding, Articulation Agreements, Dual Degree Agreements and Higher Degree Research Agreements.
  • Student recruitment: Marketing and Promotion of FSCI programs in the International Space.
  • Mobility: Student Exchange, Study Abroad and Short Course Experiences.
  • Student Experience and Engagement: Adding Value to Existing Support Services and Activities available to international Students.

Global Academic Champions

The Faculty has established key partnerships with both industry and institutions across multiple countries, and in 2019 implemented an ‘Academic Champion’ initiative linking discipline focused academic staff with these key partners to work closely with the team to build on and nurture these partnerships.
