Summer Term

EPHUMA135 'Research in Action' will be offered at the Callaghan (Newcastle) Campus and Study from Home as compressed delivery. This is a special offering where course EPHUMA135 will be compressed into just 3 hours a day for 11 days over 3 weeks.

Research in Action provides an opportunity for you to pursue independent research on a topic relevant to your future undergraduate studies.

During Summer Term, you'll enjoy a smaller class size with a dedicated course coordinator, giving you the best environment to succeed.

Completing with Summer Term

Finishing in January means you can still start your degree in Semester 1 2021!

Am I eligible to complete with Summer Term?

You are eligible to complete your program with the Summer Term course if you have:

  • 10 units to complete your program
  • Completed all of your core courses (for Newstep and Yapug)

Check the advice on the Your Options website to ensure you are eligible for summer term.

Will all degrees still be available for entry after Summer Term?

The first round of offers after grades are released for Summer Term will be made the week starting Monday 8th February.

In this later round places will be available in all programs on the Guaranteed Admissions Scheme, and most others with competitive entry to start in Semester 1 2021.

However, students who complete with Summer Term will not be eligible for Semester 1 2021 entry into the Bachelor of Midwifery or the Excellence Through Equity Pathway to Medicine due to the earlier application deadlines.

These quota-based programs also typically fill up in the 1st round, so it is unlikely places will be available after Summer Term:

  • B Biomedical Science
  • B Medical Radiation Science (Honours): (Diagnostic Radiography), (Nuclear Medicine), and (Radiation Therapy)
  • B Nursing
  • B Nutrition and Dietetics (Honours)
  • B Occupational Therapy (Honours)
  • B Oral Health Therapy
  • B Pharmacy (Honours)
  • B Physiotherapy (Honours)
  • B Podiatry
  • B Social Work (Honours)
  • B Speech Pathology (Honours)

Will degree applications re-open after Summer Term?

The direct application form will not re-open after Summer Term, so you should still submit your undergraduate application on the Your Next Move website by the closing date of midnight December 13.

Continuing with Summer Term

By getting a course out of the way over summer, next semester you can give more attention to your remaining course(s).

Am I eligible to study in Summer Term?

You are eligible to study the Summer Term course if:

  • You have successfully completed (passed) at least 10 units

If you are in Newstep or Yapug, you should also make sure you make room in your program to complete the compulsory core courses. Check the Your Options website to ensure you stay on track.
