Exploring Regional Outcomes of Cancer Care in the New England North West Region

Research aims and objectives

The global aim of this study is to understand the factors underpinning cancer outcomes in residents of the New England North West region. Will inform and be communicated with HNELHD and community cancer care networks, related to where improvements in regional cancer care might be made. Findings will also be disseminated wider through submission to the peer-reviewed literature.

The research is a mixed methods study with two components:

  • The quantitative component aims to identify and explore cancer outcomes for residents in the New England North West region diagnosed with prostate, colorectal, breast and lung cancers.
  • The qualitative component aims to explore the experiences of people with cancer in the New England North West region, as these relate to cancer services and outcomes.
