If you are interested in FinTech or find it challenging to keep track of all your financial inputs then read on. UON Alum Jemma Enright spent 10 years in media and advertising before taking the plunge and co-founding MoneyBrilliant – a compelling personal finance platform with a great reputation for supporting the financial wellbeing of Australians, especially women.
As CEO, Jemma led the MoneyBrilliant team through the challenges of establishment, MVP development and business model validation pre-funding to create a platform which links all your bank, credit card, loan, superannuation and investment accounts. MoneyBrilliant’s passion for solving the burden of poor cashflow management resulted in a differentiated, customer-centric innovation which attracted investment and then full acquisition from AMP in 2016.
Since exiting MoneyBrilliant Jemma has been kept busy as an accelerator mentor for both Slingshot and CSIRO. She’s also founded Next Milestone, a niche-mobile consulting firm which draws on her strengths in customer understanding and executional brilliance to deliver value to clients which, more importantly, then harnesses that value to grow a business. Come along and hear from this long time corporate intrapreneur and more recent entrepreneur who has taken a startup from early stage to exit.
About Startup Stories
Startup Stories takes place every Thursday from 1pm at University of Newcastle's coworking space Three76 Hub on Hunter Street. Over BYO lunch, a startup founder talks candidly about their experience as an entrepreneur and business owner – the highs, the lows, the wins, the mistakes, the whole enchilada. Startup Stories provides real-life examples of the different stages of the startup journey, creating a forum for startups to share and learn but also for the community to see tangible evidence of entrepreneurship making a difference in our region.
UON is proud to be able to bring this event to you via the NSW State Government's Boosting Business Innovation Program funding.
