Career Conversations: Merging creativity and technology
Merging creativity and technology with Luke O'Donnell
What is a creative technologist? A creative technologist is a technology-focused person who understands the creative process and is good at prototyping early, facilitating prototype testing and implementing changes. They could build web projects as well as mobile and other digital experiences.
This webinar is for students who are techies with creative talent or creatives with a knack for tech who are contemplating a career in this growth industry. This series of 30 minute webinars is for high school students looking to explore career pathways in the creative industries.
Luke O’Donnell is a Technical Officer at the School of Creative Industries who brings together his skills in Design, IT, Coding and 3D to create technology solutions for creative research and teaching projects.
Through his work, Luke is able to use technology to solve diverse problems: from creating web interfaces to educate 8 year olds about air quality using sensors, to creating apps that tell you what bin to put waste in, and teaching computers to put images in print layouts.
Passionate about all things tech, design and music, Luke is currently exploring how creative Festivals can be delivered online.
