The University Gallery
Saturday 4 November from 1:30pm
Yarn is a visual conversation between two established practices, and the first time that Sally Bourke and Nicole Chaffey have exhibited together.
Chaffey interprets the Australian landscape in acknowledgement of an ancient connection to Country. Stories have been inherited from her Biripai grandfather which coalesce with lived experience in intimate and intuitive abstractions. Bourke manifests her own connection to the Australian bush. Contained within her characters is a narrative of preservation and annihilation; “of killing one thing to love another”, and compelling interrogation of the human spirit.
Exhibition dates: Wednesday 1 November - Saturday 18 November 2017
