Music and Virtual Reality - School Holiday Workshop
Facilitated by the University of Newcastle's School Of Creative Industries in partnership with the Conservatorium of Music, this workshop is for students who have a passion for music and virtual reality and are keen to explore this innovative and immersive technology.
The workshop is for students in Year 5 - Year 9.
Over two days, you will co-design a series of virtual reality performance spaces (a Virtual Conservatorium) creating musical pieces and soundscapes to accompany each room's aesthetics. You will have the opportunity to learn a variety of instrumental recording techniques and sample-based production techniques for a virtual environment. This workshop is designed to demonstrate how you can inject music making into a virtual space – a new performance setting.
If you love music and technology, don't miss this exciting workshop!
Ticket price includes participation in both days of the workshop, commencing at 9:00am - 3:00pm. Please bring your lunch, morning tea provided.
