Technology and Social Change public lecture

This event was held on Thursday 13 July 2017

Humans are more socially, economically, politically and technologically interdependent than at any time in history and yet inequality, instability and unsustainability remain. This talk looks at examples of citizens harnessing the power of new information communication technology to disrupt the status quo. From hyperlocal journalism and media activism to citizen science and micro-finance, ‘the people’ are disregarding the manuals and using technology to collectively respond to fundamental social issues.
