Integrated Innovation Network
Yannick Zapf
For over a decade, Yannick Zapf worked across the clean energy sector in Europe, South Africa and Australia, and he now lends his specialist knowledge to developing businesses in the renewables space through his consultancy, YZ Consulting.
“Australia has come a long way the past few years – and people in Newcastle in particular are realizing that there is a big transition happening and that it’s going to provide massive opportunities locally and globally.”
He moved to Newcastle from Melbourne in 2020 and conducts his business from both his home office and the cleantech coworking space, Eighteen04. Throughout his work, Yannick blends his commercial and technical knowledge of the energy sector, assisting clients with business plans, risk assessments, and strategic advice as they establish their large-scale renewable energy projects.
Always exploring ways to connect with other sustainability enthusiasts, Yannick also co-hosts the regular Newcastle renewable energy networking event, ReNewyBeers.
He’s looking forward to continuing to build his professional networks and to meeting his first mentee cohort. “I’m really excited to be working as much as I can with small regional businesses - it all feels very positive here.”
