To ensure that the process goes smoothly for you, you should complete the following steps before applying:

  1. Review the program that you wish to apply for. Note the admission criteria, admission instructions, requirements & structure and any additional information listed.
  2. Review the program fees and costs.
  3. Check whether your postgraduate program has a Semester or a Trimester closing date. Please view the application closing date.
  4. If you are from a non-English-speaking background, you need to satisfy the University's English language requirements and ensure that you can provide evidence of your English proficiency if required.

You will be considered for entry based on criteria such as your undergraduate studies and/or equivalent prior learning and/or relevant work experience.

Make sure you double check the special entry requirements, assumed knowledge or recommended studies for the degree:

Entry into the Graduate Certificate of Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship (40 units) will be available for applicants who have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (AQF 7) not in a relevant field; or
  • 3 year Diploma in a relevant field;* or
  • 3 year Diploma not in a relevant field + 1 year appropriate business experience; or
  • 2 year Diploma in a relevant field* + 2 years appropriate business experience; or
  • At least 5 years appropriate business experience.

*Examples of relevant fields include those listed below. Assessment of suitability will be carried out by the Program Convenor.

Accounting, Business, Design, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Health, Human Resource Management, Information Technology, Management, Marketing, Science.

Students enrolling in the Graduate Certificate will be required to successfully complete a “Business Academic Skills Program” (BASP) which is of 6 weeks duration. The BASP will be non-fee based and can be completed concurrently with courses in the Graduate Certificate. Students who do not complete the BASP may not be awarded their degree.
