Marine, Coastal and Ecological Sciences
An extension of the Marine and Coastal Science specialisation, this major will take a detailed look at specific marine ecological concepts, while recognising the importance, complexity and fragile aspects of different types of marine habitats.
Following a theoretical understanding of ecotoxicology, ecological methodology, and ecology and sustainability, you’ll apply your learnings to practical fieldwork in marine environments in Australia and overseas.
You’ll also acquire an understanding of the present and future needs of, and prerequisites for sustainable development of the marine and coastal environment – enabling you to take on roles in marine and environmental science.

The Marine, Coastal and Ecological Sciences major within the Bachelor of Science is only available at our Central Coast (Ourimbah) campus.
