The Environmental Remediation major is designed for students who want to apply their knowledge of chemistry, geomechanics and hydrology to find solutions for complex environmental problems.
You’ll study past evolutionary changes that have shaped our planet and the interactions between our environmental systems to help predict future changes. Looking at the mobility of contaminant constituents in soil and water ecosystems, you’ll explore different remediation technologies and strategies to overcome the resultant environmental problems in urban, agricultural and industrial landscapes.
This major will prepare you to be a responsible environmental remediation specialist –developing sustainable practices to minimise long-term impacts on our environment.
Environemntal Remidiation is a 120 unit major, specific courses can be found in the program handbook.
The Environmental Remediation major within the Bachelor of Science is only available at our Newcastle (Callaghan) campus.
