In the final year, students continue to build skills and knowledge and progress to beginning level practitioners consolidating clinical skills and integrating research into practice.

A mix of both face-to-face and online learning is provided to ensure you are able to be with childbearing women during your practical experience.

NOTE: This program includes a clinical placement component. Allocation of clinical placement venue will determine campus of enrolment.

Advanced study options

An Honours degree equips you with highly sought after and respected skills and knowledge, giving you a competitive advantage.

With increasing competition in all sectors of employment, students who graduate with an Honours degree have a distinct advantage. It is often considered by employers as an added skill and has been used by previous graduates to pursue higher positions and salaries. You can develop and carry out research on a topic of interest, potentially leading to further academic study such as a research degree.

The Bachelor of Midwifery (Honours) is a one-year full-time (or equivalent part-time) degree that allows you to complete a research project exploring a midwifery issue that is relevant to contemporary practice and birthing-women’s needs.
