What you will study

What you will studyWe guide and support our midwifery students to learn in a safe and welcoming environment. Our academics have strong backgrounds in midwifery practice.

You will learn contemporary midwifery practice, preparing you for new models of maternity care. This degree has a particular focus on primary health care, including health promotion, Indigenous health and mental health issues.

A mix of both face-to-face and online learning is available with this degree to ensure you are able to be with childbearing women when you are needed during your practical experience. Every effort is made to support you in your studies and, at the end of your program, you will be well prepared for an Honours or Masters degree in midwifery if you choose. Our graduates are recognised by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia under the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme administered by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
