Why study maths and science at UON?

The combined degree offered at UON allows you to study maths and science concurrently. You'll graduate with two qualifications after only four years of full-time study.

You will study a range of core (compulsory) courses and have the opportunity to specialise through an extensive elective course offering. Offered through the Faculty of Science, the Bachelor of Mathematics / Bachelor of Science degree provides practical experience in problem solving, critical thinking, written and oral presentation and exposure to internationally recognised research groups.

These skills provide you with diverse career opportunities working in the public sector, private industry, non-government aid agencies or community organisations. You can work in fields related to:

  • technology management
  • production
  • the environment
  • minerals and resources
  • agriculture

Our students find this career scope highly appealing as it provides endless opportunities to integrate personal interests into working life.
