What do you learn in a Psychology Studies major?

When you enrol in a Psychology Studies major you will study the different theories and approaches to the factors which influence human thought and behaviour.

  • Introduction to Psychology: Introductory courses will see your first year focus on developing foundation knowledge in the scientific study of the mind and behaviour. You will study perception, thought, feeling and other aspects of psychological processing and reaction.
  • Abnormal Behaviour: Students will have the option to study abnormal behaviours of the mind. They will learn how to classify abnormal behaviours, evaluate them and gain introductory knowledge to therapeutic applications.
  • Personality and Social Psychology: If you are interested in learning more about how our minds influence our sense of self and identity, this course will be of interest to you. You will study components of psychology including the self, social influence, attitude, and group processes to determine what exactly constitutes a personality.
