Parking

Parking at Callaghan

Monday to Friday (8:00am to 5:30pm) parking is available with a valid permit or by purchasing a parking ticket. At all other times, parking is free. The University's traffic and parking rules apply at all times.

To see all parking areas available, click here for the Callaghan parking map.

Parking permits

Students can purchase either an annual or six month permit. Purchasing a parking permit does not guarantee you a parking bay, but it does mean you don’t need to find change or stop and pay at a ticket machine. Click here to find out more.

Ticketed parking

Coin and credit card operated ticket machines are located throughout the campus if you do not wish to purchase a parking permit. The 2021 daily rate for parking is $4.60. Please note that the machines do not give change.

Free parking

Car park 14 has been designated as free parking as it is well sealed, lit and has CCTV coverage over the parking area. The sealed section of car park 16 is also free to park in. To see free parking locations, click here.

The NUspace and Callaghan Security Shuttle both stop at car park 14 to assist with campus connectivity. Both of these shuttles can be tracked using the MyUON app.

For University staff and students, Rideshare parking is also free when you have a matched trip with Liftango. To find out more about Rideshare, click here.

Visitor parking

Visitors may only park in General Parking Areas, which you can find on the Callaghan parking map. Coin and credit card operated ticket machines are located throughout the campus. The machines do not give change.

Scratch and display day permits are available for advance purchase from the Infrastructure and Facilities Services team, located in the Services building on the Callaghan campus. Permits can only be purchased in packs of 10 minimum by individuals and packs of 100 by Colleges, Divisions and Units using EFTPOS only. Permits must be displayed on the vehicle dashboard with the correct month, day and date scratched.
