Student Advisors

Your Student Advisors are here to help you with any questions you have during your studies. They can work with you to help you make the most of your time at University and to support your successful journey through your studies.

Your Student Advisors are in all Student Central locations at each of the campuses. They are here to answer your questions and to help you access the support that is available at UON. They can work with you to create an individualised plan aimed at helping you to succeed in your studies.

The team is here for all students whether you are undergraduate or postgraduate, on or off campus, domestic or international. If you are studying with us on a student visa we are also the team to chat to and can help you understand your rights and responsibilities as an international student at UON.

Student Advisors may also make contact with you from time to time to check in on how you are going with your studies, and connect you with any information or support you might need along the way.

The Student Advice team are members of the Ally Network. An ALLY is a staff member on campus who, through attending professional development, is aware of the issues faced by members of the LGBTIQ community. An Ally is an active agent of change who chooses to challenge anti-LGBTIQ prejudice and heteronormative values.

A UON ALLY can offer you:

  • a safe place to talk
  • an open and accepting attitude
  • an opportunity to be listened to and understood
  • confidentiality
  • a wide variety of referral avenues both on and off campus

Visit the ALLY page for more information on the ALLY network.
