Staff who are not employed as counsellors can often find themselves placed in an impromptu counselling role as part of their day-to-day work with students, or when responding to a range of requests. This short practical course equips people with practical counselling skills to face issues that can arise when helping others in both their personal and professional life.
Accidental Counselling provides a safe, supportive and confidential space in which to help a student or colleague to look at problems they are facing, in a non-judgmental way. The course also aims to provide up to date information on internal or external services and resources to direct students/peers.
Students may request access to this course. Please contact Counselling Services for further information.
Staff can access this course through UON Discover.
