Museums and galleries

We have a number of museums and galleries that take you on a unique cultural experience.

The University Gallery

The University Gallery presents exhibitions by postgraduate students, as well as curated exhibitions and touring shows that promote an awareness of contemporary artists, communities and disciplines.

The Senta Taft-Hendry Museum

Located beneath the University Gallery, this museum houses an extensive and diverse collection of artefacts dating back to the 1950s telling the story of Senta Taft-Hendry's travels to the Pacific Islands and remote Australia.

Watt Space Gallery

Watt Space is the University of Newcastle student art gallery. It is a place of inspiration and experience for our students - a place where they can engage with the community through their art.

Student exhibitions

We hold a number of student exhibitions at the Watt Space Gallery and postgraduate exhibitions at the University Gallery.
