This resource for conflict resolution guides managers and leaders through a process of resolving conflict and promoting a respectful and collaborative workplace. Managers and Leaders are key to conflict resolution and the interactive guide provides leaders with the relevant knowledge and skills to identify conflict early and work to assist in the resolution of conflict.

These resources have been developed to assist in the implementation and support of the improvements made to The University of Newcastle – Respectful and Collaborative program.

Learning outcomes

  • Understand the benefits of early intervention in conflict resolution
  • Understand the leaders role in the stages of conflict resolution and how conflict can be escalated
  • Develop leadership skills to manage conflict resolution effectively within teams
  • Review various conflict scenarios that can potentially occur and establish the best approach to dealing with conflict situations, e.g. knowing what to do or what to say.

Target audience

The interactive guide is aimed at supervisors, managers and leaders who manage staff across the University.
