AWiL is an innovative development program for academic women at levels C, D and E who wish to develop and extend their leadership potential in their research, academic or professional roles. The program is run in alignment with UON's Workforce Gender Equity Plan, where the number of women in senior and leadership roles is a priority area.
The program runs from March to October and includes:
- 4 x 2-day face-to face experiential learning workshops
- 1-1 coaching
- Peer support learning
- An opportunity to hear from and work with a number of guest speakers
- Articles, webcasts and readings that offer key leadership concepts and application to roles
The program will focus on the following content areas:
- Foundations of Women in Leadership
- Self- Systems Awareness
- Adaptive Communications
- Thriving in Complexity
Who is eligible?
The program is open to Academic women (Levels C, D and E) who are employed either in a continuing position, on a contract which either extends at least 12 months following the end of the program, or applicants must have a reasonable expectation that their contract will be renewed beyond the program end date.
How to apply?
AWiL is a leader nominated program, and Head of Schools and Pro-Vice Chancellors are encouraged to identify staff who would benefit from the program within their areas.
