Hunter Building refurbishment
The UON is investing significantly in the refurbishment of the Hunter Building commencing with enhancing and revitalising the retail area and associated outdoor seating space. The vision for the building is to be destinational with a flexible, simple and dynamic feel. It will attract students, staff and visitors through fresh, affordable, quality food in a vibrant and engaging space.
The capital works program commenced in September 2016 and is anticipated to be completed with operational food outlets by March 2017. The project will create a dynamic, vibrant, engaging place to bring people together with works including:
- overhauling the food outlets and seating spaces to create a funky and vibrant retail plaza, the perfect place to catch up for coffee or enjoy a wide range of food options
- providing a new student survival room complete with technology enabled group work spaces and a kitchenette with microwaves and hot water facilities – perfect for those late night study sessions
- enhancing the outdoor space to create the perfect place to catch up with friends, study or simply chill out
- refreshed thoroughfare from the retail plaza to the Griffith Duncan Theater with small group work spaces, LED lighting and a fresh coat of paint.
