Farewell Mirsad Vojnikovich
Mirsad is leaving the University of Newcastle after nearly 15 years to take up an exciting opportunity at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS).
Originally Mirsad was employed as a technician tasked with repairing electronic components for audio visual equipment. During the following years, he developed a passionate interest in audio visual technologies and design. He continually broadened his knowledge and skills as new technologies emerged.
Key areas of achievement over his time at the University have been:
- Introduction of video conferencing as a communication and collaborative tool for meeting rooms and large lecture theatres
- Project management of the cyclic audio visual refurbishment of teaching spaces
- Audio visual design for numerous IFS and Faculty projects
- Development of the IT AV Standards
Mirsad is respected in the wider educational community and is an active committee member of AETM (the Association for Audiovisual and Educational Technologies Management).
He often went above and beyond to ensure the AV component of projects was delivered on time. We wish to thank him for his contribution and dedication during his years at the University, his technical expertise, knowledge and experience will be greatly missed.
We would like to wish him all the best in his new role and for the future.
