Interactive Technology Asset Management Program
The Interactive Technologies Asset Management program is an ongoing program of work to deliver a standards based approach to Interactive Technologies (including audio visual, presentation and associated technologies) utilised across the University of Newcastle.
So far in 2016 the project has:
- enabled eight teaching spaces at Callaghan, Ourimbah, Sydney and Newcastle City with video conferencing capability to support the increasing demand to offer programs across multiple University sites;
- upgraded the interactive technologies in nine teaching spaces across Port Macquarie and Callaghan campuses, equipping them with industry leading technologies and reducing ongoing maintenance costs;
- upgraded the technology in the NIER conference room; and
- replaced 53 digital signage screens at Callaghan, Ourimbah and Newcastle City.
Most significantly the project is developing and deploying a standardised and configurable control system and GUI. This will reduce costs for all future teaching and meeting spaces upgrades by simplifying programming, and will provide users with a standardised and intuitive interface to control room technology.
