Meet Dr Eileen Doyle

Why did you join the University Council?

I have had a lifelong association with the University of Newcastle.  I feel I can make a genuine contribution to Council.

What do you look back on most fondly when it comes to your own education?

I'm fortunate to have had such a rewarding education at the University of Newcastle, full of experiences and good times.


Dr Eileen Doyle was born in Newcastle and studied at the University of Newcastle and Columbia University in New York.  Her career spans decades as a senior executive, Non-Executive Director and Chairman across a number of industries, and she has served as the Chairman of Port Waratah Coal Services, the Deputy Chairman of CSIRO and on many boards.  Dr Doyle is presently a director of Oil Search Ltd, NextDC Ltd, DBI Infrastructure and Hunter Angels Trust.

Dr Doyle was Australia's first Fulbright Scholar in Business in 1993 and the author of 'Call a Business Angel'.
