Sport and recreation

We have a range of state of the art sport and recreation facilities available depending on your campus. We also have numerous sporting clubs.

Newcastle campus (Callaghan)

Most sport and recreation facilities on Newcastle campus are run through The Forum and UoN students can take advantage of discounted rates.

We have a fully equipped gym including a cardio zone, cycle zone, strength training zone, group fitness and personal training.

Our eight lane 50 metre indoor heated pool provides casual swimming and a range of aquatic fitness programs.

We have six sporting ovals on campus. Ray Watt Oval, Oval 1, Oval 2, Oval 3 and Oval 5 are managed by The Forum and bookings are required. Oval 4 is managed by Infrastructure and Facilities Services and cannot be booked.

Five squash courts are available in the Squash Pavilion.

The Forum has several indoor and outdoor multipurpose sports courts available for activities such as basketball, volleyball, netball and badminton.

There is an 18 meter climbing wall available at The Forum. This is the second highest climbing wall in Australia.

Central Coast campus (Ourimbah)

Visit Yourimbah for all information on sports and recreation at the Central Coast campus.

You can access high quality exercise equipment within the Exercise Sports Science and Psychology Building at our Ourimbah gym clinic. Here you can use high quality exercise equipment, complete a health screen and fitness testing or take advantage of health and fitness programming.

A multipurpose court is available for tennis, basketball and netball. Sporting equipment can be borrowed from the Campus Central office.

Yourimbah offers a range of sport and recreational activities.

NUSport offers opportunities for representative sport.
