Description
This subject introduces design and analysis methods for user interface design. Relevant perceptual psychology is introduced, and guidelines for user interface design are derived. Design methods are discussed and analysis of interfaces by experimentation on humans is described. The subject includes a large practical project in which the students engineer a user interface.

Learning outcomes
On successful completion of the course students will be able to:
1. Critically examine user interfaces over all aspects of technology
2. Implement best practice ideas in designing for the user
3. Become familiar with the techniques of data collection, analysis and interpretation
4. Understand and employ metrics used in evaluating and assessing design
5. Position their knowledge and skills against current social and ethical concerns
6. Develop expertise necessary for successful completing a project in a group environment
Content

Requisite
This course has similarities to SENG2260 and SENG3300. If you have successfully completed SENG2260 or SENG3300 you cannot enrol in this course.
