Course handbook


The Honours program in Photonics is designed to give students an advanced understanding of modern Photonics, as well as exposure to the current research interests in Photonics within the School. Photonics Honours 4310 comprises lectures in four compulsory core topics - Quantum Mechanics, Solid State Physics, Electromagnetism and Photonics.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of the course students will be able to:

1. Demonstrate a range of communication skills including writing skills.

2. Effectively solve problems by using research skills, new knowledge and computer skills.

3. Demonstrate advanced knowledge in Photonics, Applied Photonics and Physics.

This course is only available to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science (Honours) program.

Assumed knowledge

BSc (Photonics) with a Credit grade average in at least 40 units of 3000 level courses.
