Description
This course offers a consolidation and extension of the knowledge of French grammar through an in-depth study of French structures that are often difficult to master, especially for English speakers, using these in order to translate sentences from English into French.

Learning outcomes
On successful completion of the course students will be able to:
1. Identify linguistic differences between English and French in complex sentence constructions.
2. Correctly use complex sentence constructions in written French.
3. Select and use the appropriate register to ensure effective written communication.
4. Adapt grammatical and lexical constructions to suit different linguistic scenarios.
Content
- Close reading of specific grammar problems in situ;
- Grammar exercises, including translation of short sentences;
- Series of grammar tests.

FREN3610/FREN3620 or equivalent.
