Description
This preparation course is an introduction to a range of concepts encountered during a statistics course at university and aims to build a fundamental understanding of these concepts and their application. The course assumes no background knowledge of statistics, however basic numeracy and algebraic skills are required. Although limited emphasis is placed upon mathematical calculations, students will be required to perform simple statistical procedures to demonstrate their skills and understanding. Course notes will be available. The course can be taken as preparation for Enabling Statistics and undergraduate studies in STAT1060 and STAT1070. Students with limited mathematics experience should also consider enrolling in EPPREP950 Foundation Mathematics.
