Description
Mathematics for Beginners is an introductory course for students who are enrolling in programs requiring some level of numeracy and algebraic skills, for example, Primary Teaching, Construction Management, Architecture, Biotechnology or Information Technology. We recommend this preparation course for students with limited prior studies in mathematics.

Learning outcomes
On successful completion of the course students will be able to:
1. Demonstrate competent numeracy skills
2. Use scientific notation and identify significant figures
3. Solve linear equations involving fractions and brackets
4. Build a number plane plotting points, graphing straight lines, gradients and solving equations for straight lines.
