Description

Project communications management ensures the timely and appropriate generation, collection, dissemination, storage and disposition of project information via formal structures and processes to aid the achievement of project objectives.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of the course students will be able to:

1. Understand the principles of communications management and their application

2. Systematically identify the responsibilities for communications management

3. Undertake the maintenance of project management information systems and communications networks

4. Draft, vet, approve, obtain endorsement and forwarding of communication reports to higher authority

5. Critically evaluate the place of communications management in the context of the project life cycle and other project management functions

6. Critically evaluate a range of communication management technologies; their capabilities, limitations, applicability and contribution to project outcomes
