On behalf of the Hong Kong Alumni Chapter, I would like to express my deepest gratitude for your attendance at tonight’s fiftieth anniversary celebratory dinner. I would particularly like to thank the following VIPs who join our alumni to celebrate this very important event with us here in Hong Kong:

  1. Ms. Janadine Oh, Acting Australian Consul General
  2. Professor Richard Dunford, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Business and Law
  3. Professor Morris Altman, Dean of Business School
  4. Associate Professor Suzanne Ryan, Assistant Dean – Training and Research
  5. Dr. Miranda Mak, Deputy Director, Hong Kong Management Association
  6. Ms. Cora Cheung, Senior Relationship Manager- Education and Business Development, Australian CPA Institute
  7. Ms. Shirley Mak, Vice- President of FAAA

I am delighted that there are over 110 attendees here tonight. In fact, we can be proud that we have the largest number of Doctor of Business Administration graduates not only from any Australian university but also from any overseas university located in Hong Kong. We have 70 of them joining us tonight.

On behalf of the Council of the Hong Kong Alumni Chapter, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the past Presidents and Council members for their contributions. They helped to lay down a solid foundation of the HK Alumni Chapter and I hope all alumni continue to support the activities of the Chapter for many years to come.

Last but not least we wish the University of Newcastle all the best as you continue to thrive and grow from strength to strength. I wish all of you an enjoyable night, filled with great memories, full of laughter and fun.
