A message from our college PVC

Professor Lee Smith

Through excellence and innovation in education and research, the College of Engineering, Science and Environment is committed to changing our world for the better.

Our College brings together staff from across diverse disciplines to deliver educational programs and research outcomes with real world impact. Our staff know that by working collaboratively, across disciplines and with our partners we can positively contribute to our local region and beyond.

Our many world leading researchers are passionate about solving the global challenges of today. Our staff are working tirelessly to develop next generation resources, sustainable design, technological innovations and solutions to enable better, healthier living for our communities.

The enthusiasm and results from our research form the fundamental building blocks of our educational offerings.  We continually enhance our programs to ensure they are at the forefront of what our students and region require, offering many multidisciplinary education innovation programs including medical engineering, data science, and climate science and adaptation.

We pride ourselves on providing our students with a hands on educational experience which includes work integrated learning, industry connected curricular and project based experiences whilst embedding transferrable skills. Our students are provided with exciting opportunities to apply their skills including final year projects and summer research experiences across a wide range of engineering a science areas, such as utilising artificial intelligence and design skills to create robots and racing cars.

Our College is committed to bringing together passionate people who dream big. From undergraduate students starting out on their journey, those looking to further develop their skills via one of our transdisciplinary postgraduate programs or potential collaborators from our community with a complex problem we can help solve. We welcome you to our College and look forward to working together to drive our region forward.
