Information for our staff
NUspace is part of a world-class education and innovation precinct in the Newcastle CBD offering outstanding facilities, which deliver a cutting-edge educational experience for our students.
NUspace provides a first-class headquarters for UON's Faculty of Business and Law. The building enables new academic programs and research that will develop the next generation of leaders, and drive innovation and entrepreneurship in the heart of the city.
Our School of Creative Industries (SOCI), which combines the disciplines of Communication, Creative and Performing Arts, Design, Fine Art and Music, is also in the city. This is a shift towards a more contemporary approach to creative education to support the rapidly changing global workforce and our nation’s shift towards an innovation economy.
Within NUspace, there are over 20 dedicated teaching and learning spaces designed to transform the learning experience. These vibrant spaces have been designed with a focus on student engagement and collaborative learning through flexible, technology-rich environments.
All of the rooms are technology enabled active learning (TEAL) collaborative spaces that support a range of teaching styles including lectorials, tutorials, workshops, project-based activities and smaller group and break out work.
Coupled with a diverse range of informal learning spaces, students gain an enhanced and supported learning experience.
