Donations and Philanthropy
The University Art Collection has developed significantly over the past six decades in large part due to donations from our generous community of artists, collectors, alumnus and art lovers.
The University Galleries welcomes the gifting of artwork and relevant cultural material as a donation to the University Art Collection and is registered to accept donations through the Australian Government’s Cultural Gifts Program.
If you would like to donate an item to our Collection please contact the Art Curator at universitygallery@newcastle.edu.au to discuss.
Please be aware that while we wish we could accept all donations, we are only able to accept artwork that falls within the scope of our Collections Policy.
The University of Newcastle acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands within our footprint areas: Awabakal, Darkinjung, Biripai, Worimi, Wonnarua, and Eora Nations. We also pay respect to the wisdom of our Elders past and present.
