The University of Newcastle, Australia

This has been an exciting year for our University. We’ve experienced growth and change, and achieved many milestones that wouldn’t have been possible without our dedicated staff, inspirational students, and our many supporters.

This year we received the largest philanthropic research grant in our history - $16.4 million from the Paul Ramsay Foundation – to expand the visionary education program, Quality Teaching Rounds, to an additional 30,000 school teachers over the next five years. We are also delighted to be among the first Australian universities to achieve the Bronze Award in the Science in Australia Gender Equity (SAGE) Athena SWAN pilot in recognition of our commitment to improving gender equity and diversity in STEMM. And in officially opening NeW Space, and progressing the Honeysuckle City Campus Development and the Central Coast Medical School and Research Institute, we demonstrate our desire to make a positive impact on our regions.

These are but a handful of our proudest moments of 2018, and we are sincerely grateful for your contribution to our success.

We wish you and your family a wonderful holiday season and look forward to working with you again in 2019.

Best wishes,
