Working in partnership with business, industry and community to grow the capacity of the Central Coast region and the educational aspirations of its residents is a fundamental goal for UON.
UON encourages translation of research outcomes and discoveries into innovative products, solutions and policy through collaborative engagement in research projects with industry, business and government partners in our local, national and global communities.
We work with a range of partners to implement and develop initiatives that will strengthen the Central Coast region. Some of these initiatives include:
- The Australian Research Council (ARC) Food & Beverage Supply Chain Optimisation Industrial Transformation Training Centre (ITTC), hosted by the University of Newcastle, training the next generation of multi-disciplinary researchers capable of designing and managing safe, sustainable, and cost-effective food supply chains.
- Major Sponsor of the Central Coast Innovation Summit and Economic Breakfasts.
- Sponsor of the Central Coast Business Excellence Awards.
- Major Sponsor of the Central Coast Sevens Tournament.
We are also forming mutually beneficial partnerships that create hands-on learning opportunities for our students and contribute to research and an understanding of the unique environment, community and culture of the Central Coast. Our partners include the Central Coast Marine Discovery Centre and the Central Coast Academy of Sport.
